The first instructional to gain any popularity, also Hutchinson's first golf title. This is the original Victorian publishers' copper golf book plate, cover titled "Golf," of the first edition of this classic work (later editions had similar images to the first but never the same). Murdoch asserts that this was, in fact, the impetus for all other books of instruction in the game. Verso scored several times plus old glue and paper residue/remnants very likely done by the publisher. Includes old folded paper showing the illustration caused by the block.
