Compilation by Westinghouse of the many patents issued to Nikola Tesla, the "mad scientist" of electricity, relating primarily to alternating current (AC), its transmission, distribution, use in electric motors, etc. It was at this time that the "War of Currents" between direct current (DC) championed by Thomas Edison, the AC systems developed by Tesla and backed by George Westinghouse. The Tesla system won out, much Edison's chagrin and financial misfortune.
