With 74 hand-colored maps and plans (27 are double-page), plus insets; 1 double-page railroad map of the United States; all on 51 map-sheets; plus 3 other color plates showing the time table, East and West Hemisphere with mountain and river statistics. 15¼x12½, publisher’s quarter brown sheep and cloth, lettered in gilt, page edges stained red.

Double-page hand-colored maps include: The World; United States; and various individual states/cities; Boston; New York state (with 5 insets); New York City and Brooklyn; Philadelphia and Camden; Chicago; Texas; California; etc. Over fifty of the maps pertain to the Americas, mostly that of the United States. Full-page plans of Baltimore, Washington DC, New Orleans, Cincinnati, St. Louis, Milwaukee, and Detroit. List of the U.S. and Canadian post offices, U.S. populations, mountains and rivers, all in the back.
