The final entry in Gilpin's series of travels around Great Britain in quest of picturesque landscapes and buildings. The plates are predominantly gray and black and possess a somber beauty. The subjects include Glastonbury Abbey, Dunster Castle, Lidford Castle, Netley Abbey, etc. Strangely, although Gilpin discusses Stonehenge at length, he does not include a picture of the monument.
