xvi, 574 pp. (8vo) 8½x5¾, original full black morocco, elaborately decorated in gilt, rebacked with original spine laid down, all edges gilt.

The first comprehensive compilation of the revisions to the newly rewritten ordinances along with the city charter. In a full morocco presentation binding from the City of Chicago to the City of Raleigh, North Carolina with the gilt seal of Chicago centered on the boards. The charter and ordinances were first published in 1837. Howes C364, C369 (other editions); Sabin 12650; Ante-Fire imprints 173; Graff 676.

Condition:

Light wear to edges, corners bumped; foxing throughout; else very good.
