Monumental official presentation of the prescribed uniforms and accessories for the officers and enlisted men of the United States Army of the 1880's. The magnificent color plates depict groups of soldiers both mounted and afoot, in a variety of realistic settings. The black & white plates present a vast array of details and accessories, including epaulettes, helmets and caps, sword belts, chevrons, badges, etc. The painter of the impressive groups, Henry A.
