Important and scholarly study of the genus crocus, the saffron of the ancients, both botanical and historical. Includes an appendix on the etymology of the words crocus and saffron by C.C. Lacaita. Plate 17 was not published. Nissen BBI 1316; Great Flower Books p.118.

Condition:

Minor scuffing to morocco, spine sunned a bit; near fine.
