Madame Laure Junot (1784-1838), belonged to a family which had long resided in Corsica, and had there become intimate with the family of the Bonapartes. It was Napoleon who arranged the marriage in 1800 between Laure and his aide-de-camp Andoche Junot.

Condition:

Joints and edges worn; hinges starting; occasional foxing; else very good.
