Contains 30 (of 31) total broadsides for Portfolio III, numbered one to twenty eight, plus "Cover Leaf" and "Foreleaf." Contains Bukowski’s first published appearance, 20 Tanks from Kasseldown. Broadside. 16x12. Other broadsides in various sizes all fitting loose inside original 17x12¼" yellow paper covers (front lettered in black). First Edition, one of 1000 copies. Bukowski’s rare and first separately published work. His first book was not published until 1960, nearly fifteen years later. Other broadside authors included here: Henry Miller, Kay Boyle, Jean Genet, Harry Crosby, Hans Richter, etc. Many with illustrations, some are folding and/or two or more pages. The final broadside "Book Reviews" by Selden Rodman, No. 29, not present. Krumhansl 1.

Lot Amendments

Condition:
Covers split into, large tears and chips to edges; light soiling overall; some broadsides with marginal tears and occasional small / light stains (including 20 Tanks...); most broadsides very good, some are near fine to fine. Scarce.
