A handsomely bound set of Fielding's most renowned works in first edition. The final title, Fielding's most important work of non-fiction, published posthumously, is the second state of the text, edited extensively by his brother, but the first to be published - the earlier version was released later the same year in response to the demand brought on by the Lisbon earthquake in November. The volumes in the set are complete as to text, but all half-titles (if called for) or blanks may be present.
