Original "Official First Day Cover" issued in honor of Walt Disney "Showman of the World", with gravure image of Disney and Mickey Mouse at left of envelope and full-color Disney postage stamp at right with first day of issue cancellation postmarked Marceline, MO, Sep. 11, 1968. Original drawing in black and red ink of Dr. Seuss's famous "Cat in the Hat" at just left of center, signed "Dr. Seuss." Matted, glazed, and framed, outside dimension 10x13.

Interesting association between the "Showman of the World" and the childrens' book author whose enormously popular Beginning Readers series (The Cat in the Hat was the first title in the large Random House series) has introduced generations of readers to the printed word.
