Copper-engraved map. 34.3x46.6 cm. (13½x18¼").

Southeast Asia including India, the Indonesian archipelago, Philippines, Indochina, Japan, etc.; Korea is not shown, but a portion of the American coast is shown, Quivira among the few places named there. Several sea monsters, sailing ships and two mermaids adorn the oceans. Based on Mercator's world map of 1569. Latin text on verso.

Condition:

Margins trimmed at sides eliminating the borders and neat lines, and at top just to the outer neat lines; several tiny holes at centerfold, a few slight chips at edges, very good.
