15 vellum leaves written on recto (except one near end written on both sides). Leaves measure 16x10½"; plus printed outer cover sheet, states: Contract No. 4229 Between Iowa Central Railway Co. and The Minneapolis & St. Louis R.R. Co. (apparently ICR partnered with Minn. & St. Louis RR Co.).

Interesting early Iowa Railroad indenture, showing a transfer of ownership to the Iowa Central Railroad Company, who in turn partnered with the Minneapolis & St. Louis R.R. Co. Signed by most of the major people involved, including A.B. Stickney who was President of the ICR from 1886 to 1890, also by several witnesses and the Public Notary official, Robert C. Wight, James A. Flack (New York County Clerk), I.R.T. O'Connor (County Clerk of Ramsey, MN) and the various County Recorders of Iowa.
