388 pp. (Small 8vo), period tree calf, morocco lettering piece.

Nicely printed and bound abridgement of "The American Gazetteer," printed by Isaiah Thomas. Last 10 pages includes a table of post-offices and instructions to postmasters. Jedidiah Morse was the father of Samuel F.B. Morse, and author of the first geography published in America, in 1784: "Geography Made Easy."

Condition:

Vertical crack the length of spine with no loss of material; small chip to spine head; lacking frontispiece map; binding still attractive; text quite clean, good.
