Description:

Copper-engraved map, hand-colored in outline. 53.4x80.4 cm. (21x31¾"); section for folding and backed with linen.

Southern half only of Tardieu's important map, based largely on Humboldt (whereas the Northern half had drawn on Lewis & Clark).

Condition:

Split at one fold, a few nicks to the linen backing at folds, wormholes in the border at left, stains at upper left in ocean, mild soling, else very good.
