The Caldecott Medal, named after the English illustrator Randolph Caldecott, is presented each year by the American Library Association to the artist who has created the most distinguished picture book. In the present selection, all but David Wisniewski's "Golem" are in jackets without the gold foil medal present, indicating them to be first issues.
