Facsimile printing of Columbus's famous letter addressed to Lord Gabriel Sanchez, the Royal Treasurer of Spain, describing his 1492 voyage in which he felt he had reached the East Indies by traveling west. The facsimile is preceded by a translation into English. Formerly in the Forbes Library, Northampton, Mass., with perforated stamp to title-page, rubberstamp on following leaf, bookplate, white ink number along spine.
