With 25 tipped-in color plates by Kay Nielsen, including frontispiece; plus other black and white illustrations. 9½x7¼, purple cloth-backed black boards, gilt-stamped pictorial cover label, lettered in gilt, pictorial endpapers stamped in gilt and black. Early Kay Nielsen Illustrated Trade Edition, American issue.

Condition:

Spine faded, nicks and rubs (mostly on rear cover and edges), minor stains on top page edge; hinges cracking; text and illustrations clean and bright, generally very good overall.
