Folkard's lively watercolors superbly capture this magical tale of a puppet who wanted to be a real boy. This copy with owner's presentation inscription on front pastedown dated May 16, 1912. Various sources indicate the publication date of this book to be 1914 or 1915, but the inscription belies that.
