With folding color map in rear. 8vo. Brown cloth, pictorial jacket, housed in a custom cloth clamshell box with marbled edges and a gilt-lettered leather spine label. First Edition.

Inscribed and signed by the author on the front free endpaper: "To Virginia Greenburg with all good wishes from Richard Adams, May 1973." The classic children's fantasy novel that was made into the 1978 animated film. One of 2500 copies printed in this true first edition.

Condition:

A few very tiny tears and slight creases to jacket edges; mild wear to volume, faint foxing to top page edge; else near fine or better in an about fine jacket.
