[4], 426 pp. (8vo) black cloth stamped in gilt. First Edition.

Flanner was the Paris correspondent for New Yorker magazine from 1925 until she retired in 1975. She was a member of the American expatriate community in Paris in the 1920s, this was her only novel.

Condition:

Light wear to cloth, rear hinge cracking, small lending library stamp on front endpaper (no other markings); very good.
