Illustrated by Vittorio Grassi. Each page printed in colors in tribute to the Renaissance codex. 14x10¾, full morocco stamped in blind, gilt-lettered, gilt turn-ins, top edge gilt, moire endpapers; clamshell box. Limited Edition, number 12 of 1321 copies.

Limited edition issued on the 600th anniversary of Dante's death, with many Pre-Raphaelite illustrations by Grassi. Most copies were bound in cloth; rare in morocco with original box. Provenance: From the Library of Arthur M. Ellis.

Condition:

Box weak with one edge broken off, other edges worn; light rubbing to back cover; front endpaper and fore-edges very lightly spotted. Overall in near fine, original condition.
