Published in an edition of only 8,000 copies. Chandler's highly acclaimed collection of a dozen short stories and a revised version of his classic essay on crime writing "The Simple Art of Murder." An increasingly difficult title to find in a first edition state, especially with a very presentable dust jacket, which includes the art work by Boris Artzybasheff. Bruccoli XI-1.

Condition:

Very minor wear to jacket edges, mild soiling; volume spine a bit bowed and with a slight vertical crease, shelf wear and some soiling, faint darkening to margins and endpapers, else very good in a near fine jacket.
