viii, 1190 pp. Illustrated with 250 wood engravings. 8x5¼, bound in half calf & boards, gilt-lettered morocco spine label, marbled endpapers, new end leaves. A fairly early and good general history of the vegetable kingdom with numerous wood engravings throughout text. Complete in one volume, was also published as a two volume set in the same year. Half title page reads: Botanographia; or, Subjective Botany, Indicated in Outline.

Spine faded, some scuffing to leather, covers rubbed; front hinge cracked, previous owner's signatures to front prelim. (one crossed out), occasional faint foxing, else very good or better, overall.
