This edition of the most enduring of all mineralogical works was the first to be produced without the input of the author James Dwight Dana, with all the revisions and changes being made by his son, Edward Salisbury Dana, following the elder Dana's death. Ink ownership signature of John Peires, July 1st, 1892, to the title-page along with two small rubberstamps of Frederic P. Gorham and his penciled name; bookplate of John Sinkankas.
