Illustrated with 7 plates from steel-engravings, including frontispieces, with tissue-guards. (8vo) 8¾x5½, blue-green cloth, spines lettered in gilt. Revised Edition of the English Translation. Largely of geological interest, in which the author was the first to point out the basaltic nature of Fugal's Cave. Bookplate from the library of John Sinkankas to front pastedown to each volume.

Cloth somewhat rubbed, spine ends a bit crimped, corners lightly bumped, foxing to page edges and throughout; otherwise plates fine, very good or better overall.
