The recipes are loosely arranged by type: wines, fruit-based sweets and preserves, fancy meat dishes, cakes, etc. Recipes include: Cherry Wine, Gooseberry Wine, Mead, Calf Foot Jelly, York Gingerbread, Pound Cake, Carroway Cake, Spanish Creame, How to Preserve Stone Frute, White Marmalet of Quinces, Rise Florentine, To Collar a Pig, To make a friggacy of chicken [lamb, rabbit], To Make Chocolate Pudding; and many more. An early owner, Mrs. Rachel Kirk, has inked her name inside the front cover, dated 1707.
Condition:
Some light wear to binding; leaves with occasional smears and stains, small area of worm tunneling in lower margins, touch text in only a few pages; very good.
