4 one-page TLs, each addressed to Walter [Winchell]:

• Letter dated March 16, 1939 thanking Walter for his article about The Playwrights' Company recent sale of his play Abe Lincoln in Illinois which was adapted into a movie, produced by Max Gordon. In the lengthy letter Sherwood speaks about how it was a "gamble" to sell the picture rights and that the company will likely lose money, but felt that Max Gordon was give his play the "most honest, unexpurgated production..." and "The consideration that really clinched that matter with me was the trip I took to South America, and saw that our only weapon in fighting the overwhelming Nazi, Fascist and Japanese propaganda there is the motion picture."
• Letter dated May 22, 1945 about an anti-Nazi book by Michael Sayres and Albert Kahn. There is a hand-written response to the letter, signed from Walter in blue pencil at margin.
• Letter dated October 19, 1946 complimenting Walter on using a football analogy, and offers his help in future articles. There is a hand-written response to the letter in pencil, signed from Walter in the margins where Walter writes, "I always need Help!"
• Letter dated November 24, 1952 on Franklin D. Roosevelt Birthday Memorial Committee letterhead. Sherwood writes as the Chairman of the Franklin D. Roosevelt Birthday Memorial Committee and asks for a donation to the National Foundation to help find a cure for polio, for which " a preventative vaccine is within reach."

The four letters plus  a Western Union telegram from Sherwood to Winchell dated Oct 17, 1948, all housed in a custom blue morocco-backed cloth drop-back cox, spine lettered in gilt.
