A handsome copy of the first edition of Ogilby's important translation of Homer's Iliad in grand format, with a splendid array of fine engraved plates including the elaborate frontispiece and the portraits of Ogilby and Charles II which are often lacking. The plate count of different copies of the work varies, but to the best of our assessment this would appear to be the full complement of the plates. Engraved armorial bookplate.
