The Russian Tea Room brochure explains the “Russian peasant style” art decoration of the restaurant, which was opened by a Russian émigré during Prohibition, struggled to survive the Depression, closed during World War II and reopened twenty years later in Carmel. Domino's was a Jazz club restaurant, famous for its collection of “glorious, glamorous, gorgeous” nude paintings.
