A handsome set of the scarce first edition of Pinkerton's Geography. Warren Heckrotte notes that "The map British Possessions in North America is a reduced version of Arrowsmith's first 1802 issue of his Map of the New Discoveries in North America...  Wheat, Transmississippi West, does not note the relevant maps of western North America, but does note the copies which appeared in the Arrowsmith and Lewis atlas of 1804. That atlas reproduces these maps and adds 19 by Lewis."
