[xx], 445, [5] pp. Frontispiece and 3 engraved plates. (12mo) 16.5x8.7 cm. (6½x3½") early full red morocco stamped in gilt on covers and spine, all edges gilt. First Edition. "The work by Dufour upon coffee, tea and chocolate is a classic. It is the standard reference for the early history and methods of preparation" (Bitting). This work went through several editions in French, Latin and English. It is also cited in Sabin (No. 21146) for containing material on natural history in America.
