[2], ix, [1], 333. Illustrated with 16 charts (13 of them folding) & 13 sheets of coastal views (all but 1 folding). (4to) 29.5x19.5 cm (11½x7¾"), half calf & marbled boards, rebacked with original spine laid on, marbled endpapers and edges.

The second of the Alaska Coast Pilots, following on George Davidson's pilot of 1869. Warren Heckrotte notes, "This volume embraces the coast from Dixon Entrance to Yakutat Bay and the Inland Passage. The introduction identifies Dall as the author."
Accompanied by Dall's "Report of Geographical and Hydrographical Explorations on the Coast of Alaska."  Appendix 11 United States Coast Survey report for 1873 (Separate issue). 12 pp., stitched, with folding map of the Aleutian Islands.
