230 pp. Illustrated with wood engravings, including illustrated advertisements; folding map of San Francisco. (12mo)17.2x11.5 cm (6¾x4¾"), cloth pictorially stamped & lettered in gilt, all edges gilt.

The map is "Bancroft's Official Guide Map of City and County of San Francisco, Compiled from Official Maps in Surveyor's Office. Published by A.L.Bancroft & Co." It measures 39x51.5 cm (15¼x20¼"). Route of Grand K.T. procession marked in red. Locations of buildings listed by number in bottom margin, also printed in red. Inset map of surrounding country. On p 110 is a "Map Showing route of South Pacific Coast Railroad San Jose, Big Trees and Santa Cruz." Warren Heckrotte comments that "The folding map is Bancroft's standard folding map of the City, but truncated in west and south, thus concentrating on settled part of City and with the addition of the route of march and the identification of buildings." Rocq 9831.

We are specialists at packing and shipping books and works on paper.   All lots purchased by the same client are combined for shipping in order to keep the cost as economical as possible.  Our preferred method for domestic shipments is UPS Ground but we can also ship via FedEx or USPS.  For international orders we select the most appropriate carrier depending on the value and weight of the items purchased.  We are happy to accommodate special arrangements by request.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
