[8], 220 pp. In Japanese and English. Illustrated from photographs and other sources; numerous advertisements. 27.5x21 cm (10¾x8¼"), spiral-bound blue wrappers.
Glimpse into Japanese-American society and culture in post-WWII U.S., primarily on the west coast. The advertisements are quite interesting in themselves. This is the fifth year of publication, as noted on the front wrapper. Quite scarce: OCLC/WorldCat lists only three libraries with runs of the Town Crier Blue Book (University of California, Berkeley; University of California, Los Angeles; and the Seattle Public Library), and one library with this specific issue, the California State Library, but it is a "special Spring issue, for the Japanese crown prince," with 56 preliminary pages not in the present example.
