• The Octopus: A Story of California. [8], 652 pp. Red cloth lettered in gilt & stamped with wheat designs; custom half morocco slipcase and chemise. First edition, first printing. (A bit of rubbing to spine ends and corners, spine gilt a bit dull; hinges starting top crack at endpapers.) 1901.
• Another copy of preceding. (A bit more extremity rubbing than preceding, spine a little more dull; neat repairs to endpaper hinges, ink names to front free endpaper). 1901.
• The Pit: A Story of Chicago. [8], 421 pp. Frontispiece portrait. Special issue, with "SPECIAL PRESENTATION EDITION / With the compliments of the Publishers / To" printed on front free endpaper, with name of Mr. E.A. Pitman supplied in ink. Grey boards, paper spine label. First Edition, first printing, binding A. (Spine slightly darkened and rubbed,) 1903.
• Variant of preceding , first printing, binding Aa. No frontispiece portrait, as issued. Red cloth lettered in gilt & stamped with wheat designs, spine imprint in san serif type. (Spine leaning; ownership rubberstamps of J. H. McAfee to endpaper and title page.) 1903.
• Fifth printing of preceding, with Manhattan Press imprint, etc.  Red cloth lettered in gilt & stamped with wheat designs, spine imprint in modified black letter face. (Bookplate.) 1903.
