A.G. Debray

First edition. 298 pages with two folding engraved plates of wheels, kilns and similar related items. Small 8vo, period wrappers.  Complete. Scarce. See Solon, Ceramic Literature (London, 1910). OCLC cites ten copies, but an additional two are known in the UK; of the ten, only five are in the US. This work is by Mr. Oppenheim, a retired manufacturer of pottery and porcelain at the time of publication. It translates to "The Art of Making Pottery after the English Method." Solon discusses how Oppenheim was retired, but never seemed to have mastered some of these procedures. Solon also claims that new secrets from Oppenheim were not divulged in this work.

Donated by J.M.Cohen, Rare Books, New Paltz, NY.
