186 pp. With 4 lithographed maps, including: a 5¼x16" folding color map showing California from San Francisco to Yosemite and Mono Lake dated 1872 as frontispiece; large folding map of the Sierra Nevada adjacent to the Yosemite Valley in rear pocket; folding map of Yosemite Valley; single leaf map of the Hetch-Hetchy Valley, (12mo) 14.5x10.5 cm ( 5¾x4"), decorative green cloth, stamped and lettered in gilt and black, all edges gilt. "New Edition, Revised and Corrected." Third Edition, first printing (third pocket edition).

Later edition, without photographs, but with a slightly expanded text, of The Yosemite Book published in 1868. Two of the maps were revised for this edition, and the "Sketch of the Hetch-Hetchy Valley" was new. Currey & Kruska 61; Farquhar 7f; Howes W389.
