Description:

Illustrated in photoengraved facsimile; with an original leaf from the 1587 edition tipped in. (Folio), original linen-backed pictorial boards, paper spine label. One of 55 special copies with leaf containing initial and headpiece, from of a total edition of 500. Designed and printed by Adrian Wilson.

The leaf in this rare copy features a large initial "T" and decorative headpiece, and is titled "To the Readers Studious in Histories." Laid in is a letter from the publishers, dated 17 December 1968, detailing and offering this this special copy. Original prospectus laid in as well. BCC 130.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
