[2], 536 pp. 27.5x21 cm. (11x8½"), black cloth, gilt-lettered black leather cover label, spine lettered in gilt, marbled endpapers. Copy No. 9 of 11 copies. Also includes the 2008 list of golf club histories, 53 pp., comb-bound. No. 8 of 10 copies. Housed together in a custom slipcase.

Signed, numbered and dated May 2009 by Alastair Johnston. Each volume with a letter from Johnston to Ron Muszalski laid in. Important golf reference, providing a rare inside view of what is considered the greatest golf library in private hands, constantly expanding. This edition has approximately 1,140 more items than the prior year's edition. Privately printed by Alastair Johnston for presentation to friends in a very small limitation each year. Alastair co-wrote with his father The Chronicles of Golf (1993), “a seminal work on the history of the game” which collectively revised “much of what was previously believed about the game’s origins” – Donovan & Jerris, p. 367.

We have a full service shipping department to ensure proper packing and safe delivery of purchases at reasonable cost. We are specialists at packing and shipping books and works on paper.   All lots purchased by the same client are combined for shipping in order to keep the cost as economical as possible.  Our preferred method for domestic shipments is UPS Ground but we can also ship via FedEx or USPS Priority Mail.  We do NOT ship USPS Media Mail under any circumstances.For international orders we select the most appropriate carrier depending on the value and weight of the items purchased.  We are happy to accommodate special arrangements by request.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
