3 volumes in 6. (8vo), mostly cream simulated vellum with blue leather cover and spine labels lettered in gilt, acetate jackets. First Facsimile Editions. Includes:

  • Callander, John. Terra Australis Cognita Or Voyages to the Terra Australis,or Southern Hemisphere, during the Sixteenth, Seventeenth, and Eighteenth Centuries. Complete in 3 volumes. Each volume with fold-out map. Facsimiles of the original editions of 1766-68. 1967.
  • Dillon, Peter. Narrative of La Perouse's Expedition. Complete in 2 volumes. each volume with folding frontispiece (volume 2 colored), volume 2 with colored folding map, and b&w plate illustration. Originally published in 1829. 1972.
  • Howay, Frederic, editor. Voyages of the Columbia to the Northwest Coast, 1787-1790 and 1790-1793. With illustrated plates. Bound in simulated blue leather, white labels lettered in gilt. No acetate jacket, as issued. Originally published in 1941. 1969.

Excellently produced facsimile editions, from the Bibliotheca Australiana, and the Bibliotheca Australiana Extra Series.

We are specialists at packing and shipping books and works on paper.   All lots purchased by the same client are combined for shipping in order to keep the cost as economical as possible.  Our preferred method for domestic shipments is UPS Ground but we can also ship via FedEx or USPS Priority Mail.  We do NOT ship USPS Media Mail under any circumstances.For international orders we select the most appropriate carrier depending on the value and weight of the items purchased.  We are happy to accommodate special arrangements by request.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
