Composed by Spanish pianist Jose Padilla Sanchez for African-American entertainer Josephine Baker (1906-1975), whose semi-nude erotic dancing and singing at the Folies Bergere in Paris made her a European sensation at age 20. A rare musical imprint which never appeared in America, with striking art by Valerio, who later produced classic Art Deco posters for Air France and Cherry Maurice Chevalier.
