Sir Robert Peel, 2nd Baronet, was Rector of Glasgow University from 1836 to 1838.  He was considered the greatest Tory politician of his day, who held several important Government offices before becoming Prime Minister from 1834 to 1835 and 1841 to 1846. This copy with the armorial bookplate of James Hunter, Hafton. OCLC lists only one holding at the University of Edinburgh.

The plates include "pictorial illustrations, plans, and sections of the banquet hall, and the common hall of the University."

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
