BAL vol. 7, page 181.  A comprehensive biography of the first great American historian, which includes significant unpublished correspondence, much of it to and from other literary figures.  The printed dedication from Ticknor is to William Howard Gardnier and William Armory, and this copy is one of the two possible dedication copies: inscribed on the front blank to “William H. Gardnier Esq / with kindest regards & wishes / Geo. Ticknor / December 31, 1863.”

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
