31 numbered typewritten sheets, with what appears to be the original paperclip.

Signed by Theodore Sturgeon in blue ink on the first page. Included are the first thirty-one pages of the original typescript for Sturgeon's story, Thunder and Roses, being the title story of the short story collection of the same name, originally published in 1946. The story imagines the United States being obliterated in a nuclear war. The typescript is incomplete and ends about three-fourths of the way through, ending with: "(She couldn't hear the blood in his ears, the roar of the whirlpool of hate and fear and anguish that spun inside of him.)".

Theodore Sturgeon was an American writer, primarily of fantasy, science fiction and horror. He was also a critic. He wrote approximately 400 reviews and more than 200 stories.
