[8], 320, [3], 356-376, [8 ad] pp. ([A]4, B-X8, Aa-Bb8). Copper-engraved frontispiece. (8vo) 19x12 cm (7½x4¾"), later half calf and marbled boards, spine ruled and lettered in gilt. First Edition.

Contains numerous poems by Alexander Pope, including the first printing of "The Rape of the Lock" in two cantos. The whole work was probably edited by Pope. The famous poem, comprising pp. [353]-376, has its own title-page, "The Rape of the Locke. An Heroi-comical Poem... Printed for Bernard Lintott. 1712." The skip in the pagination following p.320 is as issued.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
