Copper-engraved chart. 54.4x71 cm (21½x28").

Chart featuring the coastal topography of Alaska from Mt. St. Elias in the east to the eastern side of Kenai Peninsula to include the small Chiswell Islands in the Blying Sound. Includes a good representation of the interior mountainous terrain. Shows great detail of Prince William Sound with numerous fiords and islands including Montague. Inset of "Plan du Port Chalmers." The plate is from the atlas of the French edition of Vancouver's Voyage, finely engraved on thick paper, generally accepted as being of overall superior quality to those plates in the English edition.

Condition:
Light dampstain and tide mark to right and left margins and top corners intruding several inches onto map image; small light stain at center; very good, worthy of restoration.

Lots sold without reserve are sold "as Is" and are not returnable under any circumstances. The minimum shipping and handling per invoice is $25 for shipments to the US and $40 for shipments sent outside the US Please consider this when determining your bid amounts.

We have a full service shipping department to ensure proper packing and safe delivery of purchases at reasonable cost. We are specialists at packing and shipping books and works on paper.   All lots purchased by the same client are combined for shipping in order to keep the cost as economical as possible.  Our preferred method for domestic shipments is UPS Ground but we can also ship via FedEx or USPS Priority Mail. We do NOT ship USPS Media Mail under any circumstances.For international orders we select the most appropriate carrier depending on the value and weight of the items purchased.  We are happy to accommodate special arrangements by request.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
