The artwork is signed by Lofting in the top left corner. The paper backing of the frame (detached but present) is inscribed by Lofting to screenwriter Albert S. LeVino: "To Albert LeVino with best wishes from Hugh Lofting, July 28 1930." Also included is a first American edition of the book, inscribed by Lofting along with a drawing of a seal on the front flyleaf: "For Theodore LeVino with kindest regards, Hugh Lofting - June 1930." Wonderful original artwork by Lofting, along with a rare inscribed copy of one of his first editions.
