Stapled in on front endpapers are two letters by Vardon to A.W. Tillinghast expressing Vardon's view of Americans. D&M 38390; D&J V3040. Provenance: From the library of Albert W. Tillinghast via the collection of Theodore Prussing LeVino. Tillinghast's handwritten inventory card laid in.

Jacket with chips and tears, moderate rubbing and a dampstain at rear fold; volume cover with dampstaining and paper residue to cloth, light ripple to pages, some dampstains to endpapers, frontispiece detached; about very good.

Invoices are sent out the day following the auction and include a minimum $10 handling fee plus actual shipping and insurance charges.
