2 volumes bound in 1. With a memoir of Chandler's life and character by Benjamin Lundy. 180; 120 pp. Second work with engraved frontispiece. (12mo) 18x11 cm (7x4¼"), period decorative paper-covered boards, morocco spine label lettered in gilt. First Editions.

Both of these works were published posthumously by Lundy, her editor, in his journal "The Genius of Universal Emancipation." Lundy was a three time visitor to Texas. Chandler (1807-1834) was born in Delaware and in 1830 settled in Michigan with her brother on a farm in Lenawee County, near the village of Tecumseh, about 60 miles southwest of Detroit. Proceeds from the sale of this book went to the abolitionist cause. Shaw 36587 & 36588.
